Dan at South Cariboo Excavating grew up on a horse and cattle ranch in the Foothills of Southern Alberta where diversity and hard work was both a necessity and expected. Through a blending of families, Dan moved full time into excavation and development and was fortunate to learn all aspects of the business. Dan worked up through the ranks by starting at the end of a shovel, where he became a proficient operator on all types and sizes of heavy equipment. Dan has logged many operating hours supervising and managing a wide range of private and contract projects. In 1993 Dan moved to Vancouver Island to assist in the island’s natural gas project. He spent almost 20 years installing gas, underground utilities and developing subdivisions, along with many residential, commercial, municipal and design-build landscape projects. Dan formalized his education in occupational health and safety and was introduced to Lone Butte in 2016 through an out of town contract. The seasons, the community and the outdoor adventure in the Cariboo offered Dan the path back to his roots. As a permanent resident of Lone Butte, BC, Dan established South Cariboo Excavating to create a niche and provide his experience and passion for equipment operating. He looks forward to building solid relationships and continuing to support the good folks in the South Cariboo.
